About me

I am an experienced psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist based in and around London. I am fascinated by how we experience our bodies, how embodied interactions shape our subjective sense of self, and how this continues to evolve in relationship with our environments. I am especially curious about gender, sexuality and experiences of illness, thinking about how difficulties can be encoded in the body, outside of our conscious awareness, and influence our experiences in what can feel like very perplexing ways.

I currently have a private practice at Number 42, a community for counselling and wellbeing in London Bridge. I am also an honorary psychodynamic psychotherapist working in secondary care in the NHS in East London. I have previously held positions at Albany Trust, a specialist counselling and psychotherapy charity focusing on a positive approach to sexuality and relationships, and as a bereavement counsellor for Cruse Bereavement Care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A career service designer, researcher and strategist, I have spent nearly 15 years working with global organisations to create services and employee cultures oriented around the needs of the people using them. I have led teams working to improve the services offered by banks and insurance companies, healthcare, and government departments, as well as imagining the future of community development and urban planning. People, their needs and strategies for achieving what they feel is integral to their wellbeing, has been a consistent focus in my work.

My experiences in design leadership made me very curious about team and organisational dynamics. I continue to explore how teams can function well when faced with complex challenges, what prevents changes being embedded in organisations hoping to transform themselves and the interface between psychoanalytic thinking on groups and contemporary design processes. My commitment to creating space for people to explore the links between work and mental health saw me nominated to the role of UK Health and Wellbeing Lead for a global design consultancy in 2019.

I trained at Goldsmiths University on the Post-Graduate Certificate in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Counselling. I obtained my clinical qualification from Birkbeck University, where I completed MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy for adults. I recently completed my Foundation training in Group Analysis with the Institute of Group Analysis, as well as completing a certification as a Rainbow Counsellor through the Foundation for Infant Loss. I am a fully registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and comply to their ethical framework.
